ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

To support the vision, mission and guiding principles of Authentic Life Church by ensuring excellence in all areas of our technical production ministry.  The mission of Authentic Life Church is to help people build authentic relationship with God and others, inviting them to share their story and allow God to help rewrite it! As a leader within our Worship Arts department, the Technical Production Director fulfills this mission by providing spiritual, creative, and administrative leadership for weekend production (and various church events) with a special emphasis on audio production. This position serves as the executive producer for Sunday morning with direct leadership of all audio production and contributes to additional creative elements within the Worship Arts Ministry and throughout the church. This position supports the mission of bringing Jesus to a lost world and to help make Him famous!

Executive Pastor of Worship and Communications

EXPERIENCE:

  • Formal training in Audio and/or Technical Production of some kind preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience managing A/V/L and production.
  • Must have hands-on experience with technology in a modern worship
    • production environment
  • Technical experience with multi-site and/or multi-room worship services

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and maintain a high degree of quality in the execution of sound (preferred expertise in this area), production video, lighting, media presentation and set design for the weekend worship services
    • Operate as the Service Producer ensuring all technical elements in the weekend flow are in place and that volunteers are fully engaged and communicated to, prior to and during service.
    • Run “Front of House” (FOH) or other positions in the team when volunteers are not available to serve. (Ideally this would move to an as needed or occasional basis as you develop the team)
    • Provide and maintain a high level of excellence in all technical aspects of the weekend experience.
  • Work with creative staff and ministry partners to help create an engaging atmosphere conducive to worship
  • Manage all A/V/L equipment
    • Oversee the purchase, maintenance and operation of all Audio/Video/Lighting equipment on campus
    • Develop detailed knowledge of operation and integration of all equipment
      • Train and equip both staff and volunteers to ensure successful operation of equipment in various rooms
    • Assess future technology needs and work with Worship Arts Pastor to implement purchase strategies and timelines
    • Prepare the stage for rehearsal and weekend services (and as necessary for events)
  • Produce all live streaming of Sunday services and other events
  • Recruit, schedule, train and facilitate volunteers for all areas of Sunday production responsibility for the weekend services and special events
  • Direct routine communication to enhance the Technical Department relations interdepartmentally, with other departments, outside guests, and other churches and ministries
  • Oversee set design for sermon series, Easter, Christmas, etc.
  • Oversee technical for all areas of ministry including youth, children’s, and the lobby
  • Responsible for the successful acquisition of Sunday messages for archive and/or digital distribution (working in partnership with Communications Director)
  • Constantly research and implement more effective and creative ways to help people encounter God through our A/V/L ministry
  • Attend meetings as required by Worship Arts Pastor
    • Weekly Worship planning session and logistics meeting
    • Weekly staff devotional
    • Ancillary/Seasonal planning meetings as assigned

SKILLS AND TALENTS:

  • The successful candidate must be a Fully Devoted Christ-follower and fully support the ministry of Authentic Life Church and its leadership team. This individual’s commitment to Christ will be evidenced in his/her personal life, family relationships, and ministry. His/her daily walk with God will be an example to others with which he/she interacts.
  • Expert knowledge of audio systems and large-format digital consoles
    • Knowledge of Behringer X32 digital consoles
    • Knowledge of Dante networks
    • Familiarity with personal monitoring (i.e. LiveMix) and audio system design and
      • integration
    • Ability to train volunteers on operation of equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of media in the context of worship services
    • Detailed knowledge of broadcast video environments
      • Broadcast switcher with multiple cameras (IMAG)
      • Keyed computer-graphics (lower thirds)
      • Presentation software (Pro Presenter, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Detailed knowledge of projectors, displays and video transmission
    • Ability to train volunteers on operation of equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of lighting in the context of worship services
    • Knowledge of theatrical, intelligent, LED and lighting for video
    • Familiarity with DMX programming
    • Familiarity with Lighting Consoles and their operations
    • Ability to train volunteers on operation of equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of Ableton and Midi programming. Basic knowledge required at start, but mastery desired soon after hire (must have the ability to learn)
  • Knowledge of safety protocols.
    • Electrical wiring code requirements
    • Fire Safety in a worship environment
    • ADA requirements and hindrances
    • Fire Alarm control
    • Rigging, and structural integrity solutions
  • Ideal candidate is highly tech-savvy, able to learn and master new technology quickly and thoroughly
  • Expert knowledge of AVL signal flows and strong ability to troubleshoot in all of these environments
