Position Summary:

The IT Helpdesk Technician will serve as the first point of contact for the IT Helpdesk and offer support for computer hardware, applications, and systems at Compass.

Full time 40 hours/week (non-exempt)

Essential Job Duties

  • Respond to IT Helpdesk requests through the portal, phone, or chat and keep record of problems and their resolution in Jira Service Desk.
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance for technology challenges with quick resolutions and good customer service.
  • Diagnose issues with systems and escalate as needed.
  • Provide training and manage onboarding for new employees.
  • Maintain technical and operational documentation in Confluence.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist infrastructure technician with projects as needed.
  • Perform any other duties or projects as directed.

Staff Relationships

  • Accountable to the IT Helpdesk Manager, who will supervise, encourage and evaluate the person in this position.
  • Work collaboratively with the other Compass ministers and ministries.
  • Loyal to the Compass Christian Church staff.
  • Practice Matthew 18 and show 100% support in all decisions made as a team.

Qualifications

We Require:

This person must be a committed Christian who is comfortable working in a church environment and is like-minded regarding our Christian Beliefs (Must agree with our Beliefs, Core Values, Staff Commandments in the application).

Qualifications: Education and Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Be a Biblically based follower of Christ, falling in line with the mission, vision and beliefs of Compass Christian Church.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a Technology Support (IT/IS) role preferred.
  • A strong working knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and software.
  • Experience with macOS (preferred) and Windows operating systems. Bonus if your experience includes managing Apple devices with Jamf Pro and Windows devices with Intune/Active Directory.
  • Working knowledge of Office 365.
  • Good problem solving, analytical and team-working skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow up as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • A strong desire and capability to learn, grow, and develop new skills/technologies.
  • Be a stable, mature and growing Christian with an exemplary personal, marital and family life (if applicable).
  • Must be of moral and spiritual integrity in all areas of walk and life
