PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Lead the Valley Free Student Ministry which exists to establish students in the gospel and to inspire and equip them for a genuine and abiding faith in the Lord.

QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate has the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership as found in I Timothy 3:2-7 (Character), Titus 1:5-9 (Leadership), Ephesians 4 (Equipping), and
I Peter 5:2-5 (Humility). They also have a dynamic personal spiritual life, an ability to accurately communicate God’s Word, a heart for pastoral care, and an alignment with
the vision of Valley Free.

  • Teaching: Displays a spiritual giftedness in biblical teaching
  • Leadership: Skilled in working with students in a variety of settings, recruiting, leading and managing volunteers, facilitating a student ministry leadership team, curriculum oversight, written and verbal communication skills, volunteer training
  • Vision: Further develop, communicate, and implement a vision for the student ministry at Valley Free
  • Education: College degree and/or experience in a related field
  • Other Qualities: Flexible, Collaborative, Organized, Teachable

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and coordinate student ministries including program and leadership development, ministry structures, and curriculum
  • Provide biblical teaching which will be used during youth group, Sunday School, and the occasional Sunday morning preaching opportunities
  • Relate closely with middle school and high school students, church staff, student ministry leadership, and church families
  • Mentor students in a variety of contexts
  • Collaborate with ministry leadership to recruit, equip, and support ministry volunteers
  • Work with Student Ministry Team (SMT) to encourage and grow student leaders
  • Create a schedule of events and activities to promote opportunities for fellowship, discipleship, worship, and outreach
  • Manage the Student Ministries budget and expenditures
  • Foster relationships with parents through ongoing communication and parent events

TIME ALLOTMENT AND SALARY
Full-time; compensation determined by church leadership based on qualifications and experience
